Services

What I'm retained for

Five ways to put physician-level foot and ankle judgment behind a claim, a defense, or a determination. Each engagement produces clear, organized, well-documented work product.

Expert Witness

Reports · Deposition · Trial

Standard-of-care, causation, and treatment-related opinions in foot and ankle matters — including malpractice, personal injury, and nursing-home negligence. Written reports and testimony for plaintiff and defense.

Independent Medical Examinations

IME · Impairment · Functional assessment

In-person examinations with mechanism-of-injury analysis, pre-existing condition and apportionment review, and functional limitation assessment — reported in a format that answers the referral questions actually asked.

Utilization Review

Prospective · Concurrent · Retrospective

Medical-necessity determinations for podiatric and lower-extremity care, applying evidence-based criteria with a documented clinical rationale that stands up to appeal.

Record Review

Chronology · Merit screening · Analysis

Medical records analysis, chronology development, treatment-appropriateness assessment, and documentation review — organized so counsel and claims teams can act on it quickly.

Peer Review

Physician-to-physician · Appeals · QA

Physician-level review of podiatric care: treatment reasonableness, standard-of-care assessment, documentation quality, and appeal determinations for review organizations and carriers.

The physician behind the opinion

Dr. Ahmad Rashid, DPM — board-certified podiatric physician and expert witness

One doctor, start to finish

Foot Expert Witness is the solo practice of Dr. Ahmad Rashid, DPM — a board-certified, surgically trained podiatric physician and founder of a multi-state podiatry practice. When you retain the firm, the physician who takes your first call is the same one who personally reviews the relevant medical records, performs the examination, writes the report, and gives testimony.

His clinical base is unusually broad for a foot and ankle specialist: hospital medicine, wound care and limb salvage, nursing-home and assisted-living care, urgent care, home visits, and correctional medicine — with residency training in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery and graduate training in accounting that brings fluency to the billing side of necessity disputes.

The same standards apply whether retained by plaintiff or defense: the opinion follows the record.
